It was difficult to get this song out of my head as we forged the waters of the northern inside passage of Alaska.
The sunrises were breathtaking.
Moonlight reflected on the great waters.
Stars filled the expanse of the sky, flickering, glimmering.
Snow capped mountains glistened in the warm sun.
The glacier radiated a steely ice-blue hue.
Waterfalls tumbled down between the blanket of evergreens.
Without a word
The mountains speak
The song that all creation sings
The painted skies
The sun and stars
The Heavens tell how great You are
How majestic is Your Name
Jesus, wonderful, powerful, You’re the Lord of All
How is it that I can experience the vastness of God’s majesty, His overpowering magnificence, for days on end in this case, and still return to normal life and find myself struggling with trusting Him?
I have personally seen God work miracles in my life in ways that take my breath away, yet when reality hits and normal life situations try to shove me into doubt and unbelief, I forget it all. I only see what is in front of me.
I only see the waves.
And then I have to remind myself,
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)
Does that ever happen to you?
What scripture brings you back to Him?
