I never included ‘likes boating’ on my list.

Ross mentioned as we sailed down the Foss Waterway toward the most amazing view of Mt Rainier I’ve ever seen.

How in the world could you possibly leave this off the list?

I questioned him as I scanned the horizon, in awe of the majesty and beauty of Commencement Bay.

It had been two or three years since Cathy had been able to enjoy boating with her knee pain. I honestly just didn’t think about it when I made my list of qualities I wanted in a wife!

I sighed in amazement at the scenery and quiet calm of sailing on the water.

Hmmmmm…Just another example of God caring about all the small details of our lives.

As a girl growing up, we always spent Spring break on my dad’s boat down in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. Some of my most memorable and positive moments of my young years centered around the boat, the moon reflecting on the water, and the gentle sway of the boat as I drifted off to sleep.

So why did I leave it off my list?

I guess I never hung around with any boaters once I left home, so while it was a glorious memory, it faded once I moved out on my own and followed other pursuits.

What a kiss on the cheek from a good, good Father to not only include in my Knight in Shining Armor’s world a sailboat named Athena, but the ability to steal away on Sunday afternoons and spend our Mondays off on mini getaways to marinas close by.

Like being in a far off land, but close enough for it to happen often as the weather permits. WOW. For us both to be taking it all in today as we verbally thank God for encouraging us with this added blessing as part of our lives just makes me weepy with joy.

I posted this morning on social media Ephesians 3:20:

Now all glory to God who is able through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Oh yeah. This is WAY more than I could have ever imagined.

What a faithful God He is!
